Birchbox Review-April 2017

April’s Birchbox focused on goodies that help our beauty inside out. This is something so many of us forget to focus on in our beauty routine. We memorize the steps to layer on moisturizers, primers, concealers, etc. but we forget that beauty starts with what we fuel our bodies. So while this Birchbox wasn’t necessarily a *fun* box, it was an important one!

amika-Bombshell Blowout Spray

First up for review was a hair product from amika. It promised to leave hair lightweight while protecting, smoothing, and giving volume. The first thing I noticed was that it didn’t have a smell, which is strange for a hair product. It also followed through with its promise to leave hair lightweight. I sprayed quite a bit in and my hair never got oily. I could tell my hair was smoother when I straightened it, but my hair was lacking in the volume department. So, I’m still searching for the perfect hair product! Rate: ♥♥♥

Benefit CosmeticsBenefit Cosmetics-They’re Real! Double the Lip-Pink Thrills

Okay, what? I like Benefit Cosmetics– I received a fantastic mascara from them last month. But this is weird. They’re Real! Double the Lip is a two-in-one liner and lipstick. You may have seen these combo sticks where one end is your liner, the other is the lipstick, but this is something different. The liner and lipstick are together. I already don’t like this. The colors they matched together are not what I would have picked. And it’s impossible to put on correctly. Just, no. The only decent thing about this is that it stayed on for a very long time. Dr. Jart+-Cicapair Tiger Grass Cream

Just in time for landscaping season! I have all sorts of cuts and rashes from fixing our yard this weekend so it was the perfect opportunity to give Dr. Jart’s Tiger Grass Cream a try. The cream absorbed very quickly and within 15 minutes I noticed the redness was gone. I had a cut on my hand that was dry and scabbed so I put this on and it acted like a liquid band-aid. The dryness was gone and it made my skin smooth. Dr. Jart to the rescue! Rate: ♥♥♥♥

Lollia by Margot Elena-Dream Eau de ParfumBirchbox

Nope. I smelled like bug spray and baby powder. The packaging said it will remind you of distant memories. It does: of getting bitten by mosquitoes and of small children. Normally length of wear is great in a perfume but I couldn’t wait for the long-lasting smell to leave my nostrils. Rate: 0/5

Number 4- Jour d’Automne Sugar Texturizing Spray

Maybe my nose is still messed up from that perfume, but this spray didn’t have a scent either. I also didn’t notice any results at all. My hair felt exactly the same as always. I thought the concept was cool (sugar spray instead of salt spray) but this is definitely not worth $10 let alone the retail $22. Rate: 0/5
